Unbounded Associates is a woman-owned small business that applies evidence in context-specific, culturally appropriate ways to improve outcomes for children and the families and systems that support them. We support donors, multilateral agencies, non-governmental organizations, governments, networks and researchers to find strategic ways to increase impact, communicate successes, and chart new paths in the global education space. We specialize in monitoring and evaluation, technical advising, strategic communications, networks, and stakeholder engagement.
Our Values
We are dedicated to amplifying local voices by seeking out and engaging stakeholders in the regions where our projects operate.
We believe evidence is only useful if it is contextually- and culturally responsive.
We are committed to providing our clients value for money, so more funds can be spent directly benefiting children and families.
We believe in fostering an authentic sense of belonging among our staff, consultants, and clients through promoting diversity of thoughts, ideas, beliefs, and experiences.
We strive to build an antiracist and anti-discrimination organization that promotes equality of people regardless of their race, color, religion, creed, gender, sexual identity, pregnancy or caregiver status, national origin or ancestry, ethnicity, citizenship status, genetic information, military or veteran status, age, and physical or mental disability.
Our Services
Stakeholder engagement
We excel at designing and managing complex multi-stakeholder processes. We have helped the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) to convene experts and identify gaps in global public goods for education. We also supported the UNESCO Institute for Statistics on outreach and engagement for the Global Alliance to Monitor Learning.
Research and technical advising
We have thematic expertise in learning measurement, education in emergencies, early childhood care and education, governance, and more. The Inter-Agency Network on Education in Emergencies, Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi, GPE and UNICEF enlisted us to research and map efforts by their own and other organizations on these topics.
Strategic communications
We help clients translate very technical ideas into language accessible content for their key audiences. We supported the University of Nebraska Medical Center through a USAID sub-contract to design communications and advocacy strategies that facilitated exchange and innovation among national-level researchers and practitioners, linking local expertise with developments at the regional and global levels. We also developed a communication and advocacy strategy for RTI International through a LEGO Foundation grant.
Project management
We provide long-term project management, help set up management structures, and jump in when urgent short-term help is needed. We are supporting the Education Commission through long-term project leadership on a UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office sub-contract and the Moving Minds Alliance to design and manage multi-stakeholder structures and processes for implementing a collective advocacy strategy.
Monitoring and evaluation
We conduct insightful, usable evaluations of projects and programs. We conducted independent evaluations of several GPE initiatives, in addition to an independent evaluation of Opportunity EduFinance and Pakistan Microfinance Investment Company's school capacity building program.
